CRA Treatment Recommendations for RA

The CRA has developed NEW 2011/2012 recommendations for the pharmacological management of RA that take into consideration Canada's current healthcare system. The recommendations address treatment questions identified from a national needs assessment survey of Canadian rheumatology professionals and are published in 2 parts.

Part 1: RA Treatment Recommendations

5 overarching RA care principles
26 treatment recommendations addressing general RA treatment strategies as well as specific treatment strategies for the use of glucocorticoids and traditional and biologic DMARDs
Summary RA assessment and treatment algorithms

Part 2: RA Safety Recommendation

13 recommendations addressing specific safety aspects of treatment with traditional and biologic DMARDs, including:

Perioperative management
Screening for latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) and indications for initiating TB prophylaxis
Optimal vaccination practices (which vaccines are indicated in patients with RA)
Management of patients with malignancy (active and past)

Recommendations grouped in to user-friendly tables/checklists.

La SCR présente la mise à jour 2011-2012 de ses Recommandations pour le traitement pharmacologique de la PR, qui tient compte de l'état actuel du système de santé canadien. Les recommandations répondent aussi à des questions soulevées lors d’une évaluation nationale des besoins menée auprès des rhumatologues canadiens. Elles sont publiées en deux parties.

Vingt-six (26) recommandations thérapeutiques correspondant à des stratégies générales pour la prise en charge de la PR et à des stratégies spécifiques concernant la corticothérapie et les ARMM classiques et biologiques
Évaluation sommaire de la PR et algorithmes thérapeutiques

Partie 2 : Recommandations portant sur la sécurité dans la PR

Treize recommandations sur les aspects spécifiques concernant l’innocuité des ARMM classiques et des agents biologiques, y compris :

Prise en charge périopératoire
Dépistage d’une tuberculose latente, indications de l’instauration d’un traitement antituberculeux prophylactique
Pratiques vaccinales optimales
Prise en charge des patients qui souffrent ou ont souffert de cancer

Recommandations regroupées en tableaux/listes de vérification faciles à utiliser
