Distinguished Teacher – Educator Award
Nomination deadline is October 15, 2021.
Recognition to a rheumatologist who has made an outstanding contribution to teaching and/or education in Canada. The candidate must be a CRA member in good standing, and an accomplished Canadian rheumatologist of high professional calibre who has significantly furthered education in Canada in one or more of the following areas:
- role as a teacher;
- role as a leader in education;
- overall contribution to teaching and/or education.
The scope of the teaching/education activity can be aimed at the local, regional or national level, community or university-based and can impact on teaching/education at the lay, undergraduate, postgraduate or CME levels within medicine and the related allied health professions.
Scoring criteria (all criteria are scored out of 10):
- Role as a teacher
- Role as a leader in education
- Overall contribution to teaching and/or education
Scores are not to be mathematically combined or averaged. A high score on one criterion is sufficient to win award.
The award consists of a $2,500.00 cheque and a framed certificate.
