At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. understand the process for establishing a differential diagnosis for uveitis cases
  2. understand the adequate ophthalmic screening schedule for various patients at risk for uveitis
  3. acquire general knowledge about the various treatment options available for patients presenting with uveitis

Immunology 101:  T Cell Activation and Application in Therapeutics – Nigil Haroon

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. understand the organization of the immune system
  2. understand MHC molecules, antigen processing and presentation
  3. understand the basics of T cell activation
  4. understand the mechanism of action of commonly used biologic response modifiers in rheumatology

Infectious Disease Update: Immunizations and Tailoring of Treatment Strategies in Context of Infection – Don Vinh

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. understand the immunodeficiency induced by selected biologic response modifiers
  2. understand the potential infections associated with the use of selected biologic response modifiers
  3. develop monitoring and mitigating strategies for infections associated with these biologics

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. describe pros and cons of each imaging modality
  2. explain which image findings are associated with active inflammatory disease
  3. describe some commonly used imaging criteria for diagnosis
