Practice Reflection Award
This competition is closed
This award encourages CRA members to develop CME self-assessment/practice reflection programs.
Continuing Medical Education (CME) resulting in a demonstrably better practice is difficult to achieve with conventional learning modalities such as lectures or small groups. Chart audits and other methods of practice reflection & self-assessment may be a better way to achieve this goal. The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada recognizes the value of self-assessment programs, assigning 3 credits per hour (compared to the 1 credit per hour of traditional section 1 learning activities).
The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as part of the accreditation process, requires the CRA to encourage and develop self-assessment programs for our membership.
How does the CRA go about developing & disseminating these programs? One straightforward and cost-effective strategy is to engage our membership to develop programs and then have the CRA publicize & disseminate the programs.
