The Launch of the Interprofessional TAP Training Program
Principal Investigator: Bain, L.
Co-investigator: Thorne, C
Project Summary
TAP has utilized the 2008 and 2009 CIORA awards very successfully in assessing, planning, and developing an Interprofessional Training program that has been launched and piloted with health professionals representing teams from all across Canada. The ultimate goal of the training program is to assist teams in furthering their model of care within an interprofessional framework. Results of this project have been overwhelmingly successful, demonstrating that teams not only benefitted from the results of this program, but these benefits are sustained one year post training. Participants have been very satisfied with the training they received and have described these benefits having impact to their models of care and ultimately the treatment they provide to Canadians with arthritis. TAP has been very successful in completing a wide range of posters and publications illustrating the results of this project so that these successes can be further celebrated, and used by others to inform new projects that they may be under consideration.
