Project Summary

The interim results of our study provide real-world data that enhance our understanding of the epidemiology of PsD in a population of over 10 million adult individuals in Ontario. This is the first population-based study that provides an estimate of the population burden of PsD in Canada. The estimated prevalence of psoriasis and PsA appear to have gradually increased over time, highlighting the importance of the burden of PsD in Ontario and likely in other Canadian rovinces. Additionally, the establishment of this population based cohort of PsD, has led to a collaboration with researchers from psychiatry to investigate the burden of psychiatric co-morbidities in psoriatic patients. This project in addition with the planned additional analyses of the current grant will increase the awareness the burden related to PsD.
