Self-assessment Triage in Inflammatory Arthritis: A Pilot Study

Principal Investigators:  Bell, M; Koehler, B.
Co-investigators:  Kherani, R; Sandhu, S; Goldsmith, C; Boyle, J.

Project Summary

In summary the success of this project is an outcome of selecting appropriate patient tools and the best possible combination of investigators and research staff to conduct the study.  The impact of our study in rheumatology care will be determined through our analysis.  Many rheumatologists strive towards early detection of IA.  If we show that the self-assessment tools evaluated in this study can help a rheumatologist more accurately determine the urgency rating of a new referral, it may lead to a cost-effective improvement in the wait times for patients with possible IA.
