CRA Resident Programs
CRA RheumAcademy offers a suite of programming tailored for Canadian rheumatology residents, designed to strengthen clinical knowledge and support exam preparation. Participants gain access to focused learning resources, networking opportunities, and resident programs including the CRA Residents’ Pre-Course, National Written Rheumatology In-Training Exam (NWRITE), and the National Virtual OSCE. IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- PGY4-5 rheumatology residents must be CRA members in good standing in order to participate in all CRA educational programming
- Registration is required for all CRA resident programs
- All presentations are hosted in English; the National Written Rheumatology In-Training Examination (NWRITE) and Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) can be taken in either French or English.
- Trainees who have not applied for a CRA membership before September 15, 2025, will NOT be eligible to apply for a bursary to attend the CRA Annual Scientific Meeting (a modest registration fee will be charged with all CRA Foundation education bursaries)
- New for 2025: The NWRITE will now be offered to pediatric programs in addition to adult programs

National Virtual OSCE
April 24, 2026
The national virtual Observed Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is an examination that assesses clinical competence and supports residents in their applied exam preparation.
Hosted virtually from 9:00 am-1:30 ET
Two exam circuits scheduled:
- Circuit #1 from 9:00-11:00 am ET
- Circuit #2 from 11:30 am-1:30 pm ET
All efforts will be made to prioritize residents on the east coast for circuit #1 and residents on the west coast for circuit #2 (all pediatric residents will be scheduled for circuit #2). The final schedule will be posted the week of April 13, 2026.
In order to secure your spot, advance registration is required; registration deadline is March 31, 2026.
Residents’ Pre-Course
The Pre-Course is a comprehensive program covering a broad range of rheumatology topics designed to expand residents’ knowledge and strengthen their understanding of rheumatic diseases.
