Equity-Oriented Actions for Rheumatology Practice and Policy: An Introduction

Presented on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 by Dr. Grace Wright.Ā

Session Overview

This webinar will introduce the audience to equity-oriented actions for rheumatology practice and policy. Our dynamic speaker, Dr. Grace Wright, will address the drivers of health disparities and their impact on health outcomes. Attendees will become familiar with Equity Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) principles as they apply to individual providers, healthcare institutions, and patients. This level of familiarity is required to understand how bias impacts healthcare outcomes. In addition, through the identification of barriers to EDI in organizations, the attendees will gain insight into effective practices that they may incorporate as individuals and as members of organizations to create more inclusive workspaces. The audience, upon completing this webinar, will be more equipped to have an impact on reducing health inequities in rheumatology. There will be allotted time to engage in dialogue with the presenter on this important aspect of health care.
