Dr. Pari Basharat

Pari Basharat, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Pari Basharat completed her Internal Medicine and Rheumatology fellowships at the University of Western Ontario. She also completed a fellowship in Inflammatory Myopathies at Johns Hopkins University. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine and the Program Director of the Rheumatology Residency program. She has a special interest in inflammatory myopathies, and conducts subspecialty clinics in this area that are one of the highlights of the rheumatology resident program at Western. She also participates in research in this area and has mentored residents in research projects in myopathies and teaches on this topic at residency courses and conferences.

She is the Curriculum Coordinator for the Internal Medicine (IM) Program, Department of Medicine, at Schulich. She is a member of the IM Residency Training Committee (RTC), a member of the Post Graduate Medical Education (PGME) Committee at Schulich as well as a member of the PGME Policy Subcommittee. She is also a member of the Remediation Committee for the Department of Medicine, Internal Medicine Program. She is an Ambassador for the Internal Medicine Program and serves on mentorship committees. She was also Clinical Skills Chair for Undergraduate Medicine at Schulich. She regularly sits on the Awards Committee for Schulich as well. She has received the Department of Medicine Junior Teacher Award.
